Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation is proud to partner with the Port of Bellingham, Bellingham International Airport, and City of Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department to host this event.
Normally closed to the public, this section will be open to traverse on foot or by bicycle from Kope Road on the north end, along the airport access road, through to Marine Drive on the south end, then returning back to Kope Road. The entire trail is approximately 1.75 miles round-trip, over varying terrain.
In addition to providing open access to this area, officials from the Port will be on hand to share information about the proposed Airport Trail Plan. Kids and adults alike will love exploring the natural flora and fauna with a nature scavenger hunt activity provided by Brio Laundry. The information and refreshment stop is located in a beautiful meadow and provides an excellent viewing area for planes.
